Dear Family and Close Friends,
After almost 90 incredible years of a life well-lived, and over 60 years of marriage, my mom, Bess (Vasiliki) Marianes, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, September 6th, in the loving presence of her family. May God grant rest to her soul and place her in paradise with my father for all of eternity until we are all reunited in Christ’s redeeming love.
We will be welcoming friends and family to celebrate mom’s life at A.S. Turner & Sons funeral home (2772 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA.) on Friday, September 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Trisagion service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mom’s funeral will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation (2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30329) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10th, followed by interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
We humbly ask that you remember mom (Vasiliki) in your prayers and with any fond memories you might have of her. She truly lived a full and meaningful life with love for her faith, family, friends, heritage and with true filotemo.
Please keep mom and dad in your prayers as they begin again a new life together, in peace, and with our resurrected Lord.
Our family has put together a PowerPoint presentation of a few of our favorite photos of mom. The pdf version can be found, along with her obituary, on my website: www.stewardshipcalling.com under the “In Loving Memory” tab: https://stewardshipcalling.com/in-memory/. (Please be patient as the pdf loads.)
Thank you again for all you have meant to mom and our family. May her memory be eternal.

A lovely presentation Bill. It must have brought back many warm memories. Your family was fortunate to have had her with you for so many good years. Our family extends its sympathy to you all.
