Death Is Not The End

Death. The great equalizer. The inevitable future we all face but rarely want to contemplate let alone discuss publicly.

Yesterday, I released the most impactful work I have been blessed to do in over 40 years of serving Christ’s church.  To interview a true servant leader whose days are known to be short and numbered is challenging beyond compare.

But when this man is a true man of God with nothing to gain or lose by what he says, you will hear unvarnished truth in every sentence. Because every sentence matters. Every moment matters.

You can agree or disagree with his conclusions, but you cannot say that they are not authentic and heartfelt and delivered with love and the passion and calling of making every second count. Because they all do.

When it matters most, what matters most is what you do and say.

We are all dying.  Most of us don’t know when.  Some of us don’t want to know.

But what if you had a good idea of the timeline? You would likely do what really mattered and say what you felt needed to be said. You would not pull punches, because you’re never sure which will be your last one.

In other words, it would all be the best truth you know, and the most crucial things you needed to say.
